This is my personal blog where I’ll be posting about design, photography, music, movies, books and other random cool things. I’ll try to keep it in english for a broader audience.

About the sections:

— In the section called Gabriela I’ll keep all the posts tagged with #me. So you can find all the pictures and content about me, or done by me on just one section.

— The section called Movies&Books had the purpose of keeping record of movies I watched and books I read, sometimes accompanied by reviews, but I haven’t had the time to do this anymore.

— You can check the Design section if you only care on viewing design-related content, you can just click here and avoid all the other random posts.

— On the MBI section I’ll collect or generate data for my Masters in Businnes Innovation. So check it out if you are interested in research and points of view towards generating projects, and design related innovation.

*Most of the content posted here is mine, otherwise stated.

Catalyst is who I am. Design & Photography is what I do.

My name is Gabriela Salinas, I live, work and study in Monterrey, a city in the north of Mexico known for its mountains and hard-working people. I graduated from Graphic Design and New Media at CEDIM on 2010 as Magna Cum Laude. While studying I started a project called Mitosis010 with three school-mates, focused on showing the socially-relevant side of design, mixed with the importance of regionality and being a designer at Monterrey. The project consisted of a two day event and conferences at Centro de las Artes in April 2010, 5 magazines, and a blog. Mitosis project won 1st place at Premio DIA on 2010, a design award hosted by cedim.

For three years I have been working as a designer and photographer at Face. a design studio whose range includes design solutions, editorial projects and custom publishing, corporate identity, web design and brand development. Besides the client work we also have a blog: Artvvork, and a magazine: Page. The Magazine.

I’m currently developing and designing an iPad magazine called Medina Magazine. The first issue was published on November 2012 you can download it on the Appstore for free.

I’m also currently studying the MBI masters at CEDIM, and working on my project (I will tell you about it on the future). I fully recommend this amazing program.

I love the smell of print, ampersands, turquoise color, capuccino paper, cactus and rabbits.
